    Every token your systems produce was bought — and most were bought without anyone deciding they were worth it. The teams who win this economy won't be the ones who spend the least. They'll be the ones who always know what they're paying for.

  2. 02Continuity— whether it keeps running

    The model you rent can be turned off without you.

    A model you rent lives on someone else's release schedule. It can be repriced, fenced off, retired, or quietly changed while your code stays exactly the same — and you find out when something that worked yesterday stops working today. Ownership is the answer engineers already know: a frozen copy nobody else can reach or deprecate. Own the fallback, rent the frontier, and you hold the upgrade clock.

  3. 03Sovereignty— who sees your data

    Privacy you can prove, not privacy you're promised.

    Every prompt you send to a rented model is a disclosure — it leaves your machine, crosses the wire, and lands somewhere you don't control. A privacy policy is a promise you cannot enforce. When the model runs where your data already lives, confidentiality stops being something you hope for and becomes something you can prove. That is the difference between a policy and a property.
